Prosthodontics is the culmination of treatments in the fields of surgery, implantology, endodontics, restorative dentistry, orthodontics, and periodontology. The restoration of full function and aesthetics is achieved in two ways: by reconstructing damaged natural teeth or, in the case of tooth loss, by replacing missing teeth with prosthetic restorations (single, partial, or complete).

Prosthodontists work closely with ceramists and acrylic specialists from the MALO CLINIC prosthetic laboratory, who specialize in creating prosthetic restorations supported on implants as well as natural teeth. Prosthetic work is carried out using the highest quality materials, adhering to all clinical standards and with meticulous attention to detail.

Usually, the first phase of treatment involves taking impressions, which serve as a reference for the prosthetic laboratory. Based on the impression, a treatment plan and a design visualization of the anticipated result are prepared for the patient. This forms the basis for creating a temporary acrylic or composite prosthesis, which quickly restores chewing function, provides sufficient aesthetic comfort, and serves the patient until the final, permanent restoration is ready. This also allows the prosthodontist to make necessary adjustments to achieve a satisfying result for both parties.

This field of dentistry is currently developing dynamically due to advancing digitalization.

Main Tasks

  • Reconstruction of damaged teeth
Reconstructing a tooth with a prosthetic crown is possible when its root(s) are in good condition and the missing tooth structure has been rebuilt. Computer-assisted techniques are used in the planning and fabrication of prosthetic restorations, ensuring precision and high aesthetic quality. At MALO CLINIC, crowns are primarily made from aluminum oxide or zirconium oxide. In some cases, metal-ceramic crowns are also used. For minor tooth damage or to enhance aesthetics, veneers—thin porcelain shells—can be applied to significantly correct imperfections related to tooth shape or color.
  • Implant-supported crowns and bridges
In cases of tooth loss or necessary extractions due to extensive damage, considering the inconveniences of removable dentures, we often recommend fixed bridges supported by natural teeth. In such cases, the adjacent teeth (abutment teeth) need to be prepared by grinding. If the potential abutment teeth are healthy and there is sufficient bone in the edentulous area, an implant is the ideal solution. Implants can be used to replace single missing teeth or, in the case of more extensive tooth loss, to support a fixed bridge.

For edentulous patients, MALO CLINIC offers the MALO CLINIC PROTOCOL, which includes the All-on-4™ surgical technique. The goal of this protocol is to enable the placement of a fixed bridge supported by only four implants on the same day as the procedure. This bridge, known as the MALO CLINIC Bridge, immediately restores the patient's chewing function and aesthetics through close collaboration between surgeons and prosthodontists from the early planning stages. The MALO CLINIC Bridge is recognized worldwide as the most advanced fixed bridge, which not only restores a full set of teeth but also replaces the gums, ensuring aesthetic rehabilitation of both the dentition and soft tissues. This design also facilitates easier hygiene maintenance and, over time, improves phonetics. There are different types of MALO CLINIC Bridges, ranging from a fully acrylic temporary bridge to a definitive bridge made of titanium and acrylic or titanium and ceramic. Patients can choose the final bridge version that best suits their needs, aesthetic preferences, and financial possibilities.
